“Taylor Swift’s Jaw-Dropping Record-Breaking Movie Premiere: $26 Million Shock Within Hours!”

Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert film, scheduled to premiere in theaters on October 13th, has already generated an impressive $26 million in presale ticket revenue at AMC Theatres. This accomplishment surpassed AMC’s previous single-day ticket sales record held by “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ($16.9 million) within just three hours of ticket availability. It’s worth noting that this remarkable figure exclusively represents presale tickets at AMC, indicating that the actual ticket sales numbers are significantly higher. AMC, as the world’s largest theater chain and the film’s official distributor, is showcasing “Eras Tour.” However, the film is also being screened in competing theater chains like Regal and Cinemark, as well as independent venues.

Furthermore, Fandango, the ticketing service, reported that “The Eras Tour” has broken its record for the highest first-day ticket sales in 2023. Although specific numbers were not disclosed, Fandango implied that the presales are on par with blockbusters like “Avengers: Endgame,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” at similar points in their sales cycles.

Jerramy Hainline, senior VP at Fandango Ticketing, commended Taylor Swift’s concert film, stating, “Taylor Swift’s concert film is not only the best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango, but it is performing exceptionally well, ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time alongside franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and DC Comics.”

Swift’s concert film, a depiction of her record-breaking stadium tour, is poised to be a significant boon to movie theaters this fall, especially following the rescheduling of “Dune: Part II” from November to March 2024. With this unprecedented level of demand, industry insiders are privately speculating that an opening weekend exceeding $100 million is achievable, marking a milestone for this genre. In fact, only five films this year, including “Barbie,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” have achieved triple-digit openings.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” will feature a minimum of four showtimes per day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at all AMC theaters across the United States. Due to this exceptional demand, AMC is already considering additional showtimes to accommodate eager viewers. Ticket prices, in line with Taylor Swift’s style, carry symbolic numbers, with standard screens priced at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors. Imax and Dolby tickets will be priced higher. Taylor Swift’s Movie Premiere: $26 Million Within Hours
